Output of the Converter

The converter generates 3D models in the 3D exchange formats STP, IGS, VDA, SAT, SAB, X_T and in CATIA V5 format as CATPRODUCT and CATPART.

  • An automatic HEALING function guarantees the very high quality of the output data. Poor quality data can even be improved by converting it.
  • If the model contains assembly information, assemblies and parts can be specifically selected during conversion.
  • The converter is an interface between different CAD systems and software that works with exact CAD data (vectors, edges, bounded surfaces). Used for example, in measuring machines or CAM software.

Output of the Viewer

The viewer generates 3D models in STL, OBJ, PLY, 3DS, WRL and U3D visualization formats. The publication as 3D PDF file for Adobe Reader is also supported. The 3D-Tool Viewer thus serves as:

  • Interface between 3D CAD systems and 3D rendering software such as Arnold, Blender, Cinema4D and Maya
  • Interface between 3D CAD systems and 3D printing software used in rapid prototyping
  • Tool for sharing and archiving 3D models in universal PDF format for viewing
